I am a Southern gal born, and raised in Lafayette, LA. This shocks many because I lack an accent, but sometimes I do have a drawl. Lafayette is located in the deep south: Cajun Country. It is known for it's food, music, and festivals.
Dowtown Live takes place every Friday. This is an event with live cajun and zydeco bands along with art shows that takes place in our downtown. Cajuns love to dance.
Crawfish is a favorite. Now is the season for outdoor crawfish boils and beer.
